Musings

Since my teenage years, I have loved reading and writing poetry.
These are some of my poetic "musings".

Eventide

A mist of grey hovered low
Entwined among the evening
As silent woods bend and bow
With golden ribbons gleaming

A whispered hush of icy breeze
Bestowed on Autumn's twilight,
A rustling of the coloured leaves
As day turned into Eve's light

The crystal tear of heaven's face
Gleams bright amidst the shadows,
And lights the path between the worlds
Of Eventide and Moonglow

The Immortal Cry

If ere there were a power so strong
To cast away my true love's song
Yet even in that silence long:
My love is ever thine

And should he ever pass the door
The lead's beyond my silver shore
And passing he forevermore:
My love is ever thine

There if he finds another love
Who's seas he'd long been dreaming of
The stars would hear my cry above:
My love is ever thine

And if his love should pass me by
I would not lie, if dead were I
But stand and sing the Immortal cry:
My love is ever thine

Linked Hearts

His heart and mine are ever linked
From life unto the grave
From morn until the eveningtime
Our hearts they beat the same

His heart and mine are ever linked
come storm and come the gale
In seas of glass and water's sweet
Our hearts the same they sail

His heart and mine are ever linked
In joys and in the tears
In song and the quietness
Our hearts are ever mirrored

His heart and mine are ever linked
Though proud and often frail
Hearts entwined yet pulled and strained
Our heart's same land they hail

His heart and mine are ever linked
'No death or life could sever'
Though day may pass and night be long
Our hearts are linked forever

Of the Scriptures

Pass me not in tome-filled halls
To lie among their coffins
But treasure, keep, and hold me near
And gaze upon me often

Tho some may scoff and scorn me, Still,
Hold me forever dearly
Entwine your heart within my light
And see life ever clearly

For tho my truth be ancient told
It's voices ring with newness
To sing unto the distant lands
And rings in you the truest

The Ancient Tale

Arise and sing the ancient tale
Of knights and scribes and kings
Of noble steed and daring deed
That give our young hearts wings

A call to arms for young and old
The colors flying high
Come lowly maid, come queen in jade

Now to the battle we ride!

The king is sitting proud and tall
Upon his steed of grey
Sword awielding, his castle shielding
Pendragon leads the way

"For Camelot!" Comes that glorious shout
Red dragon lifted high
Arrows steadied, swords are readied
Amidst the blackened sky

For evil lurks upon the edge
Of Arthur's bright, fair land
With malice seething and hatred scheming
Come Mordred and his band

Silence falls 'ore the plain of Salis
As father and son's eyes meet.
Then with a great shout, Mordred rides out
Thus begins the battle's heat

Now Mordred strikes a grevious blow
Still Arthur's sword is true
Dead son, he lies, his father beside
Tears for the son he slew

"O Maids of Avalon!" cries he
"Pendragon breaths his last.
Ferry and carry me over
To Avalon where I may rest"

The maids came with roses and ship
To bear him across the sea
"Farwell to the king of who we sing,
Sweet Avalon waiteth for thee"

Tis the end of Pendragon's regin
Of Camelot bright and free.
Excalibur lost, into the lake tossed
Ever destined to be.

From Areirin to Nennius to Mallory
The ancient tale we sing
Of Arthur bright and brave and bold
The once and future king.
